Day 1 – Atene airport – Atene city
Day 2 – Atene city – Corinto – Epidauro - Nauplio
Day 3 – Nauplio – Tripoli – Ag. Theodora Vasta - Olympia
Day 4 – Olympia – Lepanto – Galaxidi – Itea - Delphi
Day 5 – Delphi – Thiva – Athens airport
Day 1 – Athens airport – Athens city
Arrival at Athens airport, reception and transfer to the hotel, check-in and room assignment. Meeting at 7.30pm and welcome dinner scheduled for 8.00pm. Overnight stay.
Day 2 – Athens city – Corinth – Epidaurus - Nauplius
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for the Corinth Canal, an evocative work completed only in 1893 which, with 6.3 km in length and 25 meters in width, connects the two seas: Ionian & Aegean. Next we reach the famous Theater of Epidaurus, considered an acoustic masterpiece, just think that despite dating back to the 4th century. AC is still used for shows today! After the visit to the Theatre, we reach the elegant town of Nauplio, dominated by the mighty Venetian fortress of the Palamiti. This is a place that has a special place in the hearts of Greeks, having been the first capital of free Greece (1829-1834). Optional free lunch followed by a walk among the period buildings, churches, mosques and synagogues to discover the beauties of this jewel city. Check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3 – Nauplio – Tripoli – Ag. Theodora Vasta - Olympia
Breakfast at the hotel and departure towards the heart of the Peloponnese, passing through the town of Tripoli which with 50,000 inhabitants is the capital of the Arcadia region. From here we go up towards Vasta where, in the middle of the forest, we will go to see the inexplicable phenomenon of the Byzantine church of Aghia Theodora... Stop for lunch (free) and continue towards Kalò Nero along the beaches that line the large gulf of Kyparissia. Crossing the sacred forest, on the banks of the Alfios river, you finally arrive at ancient Olympia, the place where in 776 BC. the Olympic Games which were held every 4 years in honor of Zeus officially began. During the games a truce was declared from all wars and conflicts, so athletes competed on playing fields instead of battlefields! Check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4 – Olympia – Lepanto – Galaxidi – Itea - Delphi
Breakfast at the hotel and meeting with the guide to visit the beautiful museum of Olympia, where among the unique finds in the world, we find the fantastic statue of Hermes, a masterpiece by Praxiteles from 350 BC. and the first representation of Victory, Nike in flight, the work of the sculptor Peonius dating back to 425 BC.
After the visit we continue towards Patras to cross the Poseidon Bridge, built for the 2004 Olympics which with its 3,000m. in length it is the longest cable-stayed bridge in the world.
Here then, the beautiful and historic town of Lepanto famous for the naval clash that occurred on 7 October 1571 during the Cyprus War between the Muslim fleets of the Ottoman Empire and the Christian fleets of the Holy League led by the Venetians. Optional free lunch stop and along the Gulf of Corinth, continuation towards the surprising Galaxidi for a walk between the "Captains' houses" and the church of Ag.Paraskevi. Finally we arrive at the extraordinary archaeological site of Delphi, considered by the ancients to be the center of the world! Check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5 – Delphi – Thiva – Athens airport
Breakfast and meeting with the guide for the visit to the archaeological site and the Delphi museum. Then departure for Athens (190km), in time to reach the airport according to the flight time.
